how to see communication on specific IP address

Hello,

I have an IP camera , whose address is known. I connect it directly to my LAN port in my PC.  The camera has its own software for display and control. How can I see the commands passed to camera by the software so that I can control the movement of the camera using Labview. I dont have the command set for the camera. Would that involve sniffing? can it be done by Labview ?
