EtherCAT gives "invalid sync manager configuration" while working with Simple Open EtherCAT Master

Hello All,

 

I am using Simple Open EtherCAT Master with NI 9144 EtherCAT slave. This master can successfully configure Beckoff slaves. But with NI EtherCAT, it states "Not all slaves reached operational state". And throws "Slave 1 State=12 StatusCode= 17 : Invalid sync manager configuration" error. Following is error log for more information. 

Any help to resolve this issue is much appreciated.

Programatically Removing TEDS configurations from NiMax

I would like to programatically remove all of the TEDS configurations that are stored on my hardware in NIMax. I have tried to use the DAQmx Clear TEDS Vi for this with no luck.

Self-Imaging cRIO Controller (linux) using an image saved in its own hard-drive

Hello Everyone,

 

I am working on automating image deployment on cRIO controllers.

Has anyone written a LabVIEW program or heard of a way to,

 

1. Self-Image a cRIO controller (that runs on Linux OS, example 903x) using a LabVIEW program that runs in the same controller.

2. The image is stored in its local drive.

 

Imagine, I have a startup program that looks for a specific named ".lvmapping" file at a specific location upon power up. If that file presents, then it needs to self image itself.

 

So far I know,

a. I can image a Linux controller using a LabVIEW program running on a PC to which the controller is connected to (uses "Set System Image.vi").

b. The image file is stored in the PC (not at the controller).

 

Please help. Thank you.

Intergral ptbypt

Hello everyone,

 

I have a difficulty understanding how integral x(t) ptbypt works.

I have a DAQ which feed me one data of analog input value at a time. Therefore it should be logical to use the integral ptbypt function.

However, upon the trial process, I found the function gave me a wrong value, or probably I implemented it wrong.

For example,

I feed the integral function with the array of 1,2,3,4,5 with dt = 1. it should give me the integral result of 12.

in the top part of the snippet, I used numeric integration which gives me correct value.

The bottom part gives me the wrong value, which I dont know why

Hello, guys, I am working on a project which involves rotating a camera lens with the help of stepper motor. project is basically determining the max focused position of lense that's why I need to know by how much degrees the motor is moving. I have attached LabVIEW file in which motor is moving in steps I want it to move in degrees

 

As I am new to LabVIEW I will be very thankful if anyone of you could help me with this.

Problème exécutable NIVision

Bonjour

 

J'ai créé un exécutable qui permet d'enregistrer des photos prises avec une webcam USB à une fréquence définie.

Cet exécutable fonctionne sur mon PC qui a Labview d'installé et le module vision.

J'ai installé l'exécutable sur un autre PC via un Installeur, lorsque je l’exécute les ressource suivantes sont introuvable :

nivision.dll
niimaqdx.dll
nivissvc.dll
NI_Vision_Acquisition_Software.lvlib

 

J'ai essayé de copier les 3 premiers de mon PC, mais cela ne fonctionne pas.

Comment faire pour résoudre cette erreur?

Hello! 

Problem: 

I'm simulating different sine and cosine waves to generate multiple signals. I applied FFT vi and extract the frequency components of them. I want to extract specific frequencies from multiple frequencies, for example, there are 100 frequencies data available and have to extract 20, 22,28) and after that apply a machine learning algorithm on them. Can you please tell me how can I do it?

k-Type Thermocouple calibiration with NI 9213 module

Dear all,

I am new to this forum.

I want to calibrate (range of 25°C to 85°C) 3 k-Type Thermocouple with NI 9213 module coupled with NI 9174 chassis using Labview. I also have heating thermostat with a bath with temperature measurement from 25°C to 85°C that can help me to calibrate the thermocouples.

I know that the measurement sensitivity of K type thermocouple is 0.02°C. For our experiment I need to have uncertainty range of ~0.1°C (after accounting for static, random uncertainty and regression and linear fitting).

My question is that how should I start programming the Labview and what is the procedure for calibration?

Should I calibrate k-Type Thermocouple or NI 9213 module or both?

Leaving LabVIEW after 21 years

Hello,

it's quite a hard decision for me after 21 years of using LabVIEW and NI products, but their licensing strategy makes it very difficult for me to continue with them...now, I'm tired of finding a good compromise and finally give up with NI.

Background:

I'm working in a national public research center financed mainly by public money (government, national research funds, European research funds). The projects I'm involved are mainly dealing with the creation of new methods (testing prototypes and sensors) as a base for environmental models. There are a lot of students doing their theses (master and phD) and I wanted to establish a academic site license, which enables an easy access for the students and also to encourage other colleagues to try out LabVIEW. However, this is not possible, because we are not an University nor another teaching institute. For security and safety reasons only computers which belong to our institute are allowed to connect to our network...student PCs with student licenses are not allowed. As I'm not working as a full-time software developer nor as a "programming service" for students, I don't see any possibility to make LabVIEW accessible and popular to students within our institute.

I have been looking at the Agilent 53131A Labview drivers, but for the life of me cannot see an option anywhere for setting the gate time. Does anyone else have any experience with the settings of this device?

Labview GPIB between two Chassis

Hello community,

 

I am trying to get two chassis (NI-1095s) to communicate with one another. I am struggling to get the example to work. Is it possible to have two chassis communicate via GPIB? I set one as the master. I've also tried these steps to no avail http://www.ni.com/product-documentation/3389/en/.

 

Also, Is there any way to controller the GPIB port for anything? I seem to be running into nothing but roadblocks. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

I'm trying to get data from LabVIEW 2014 with 2018. I used shared variables to do so but it's impossible for me to find the variable shared from 2014. I'm looking for another solution or maybe a way to make it work.

Help Search not working, LabView 2018 for Mac

I just yesterday installed LabView 2018 for Mac on a new computer. Several aspects of the Help functionality are not working. I'll describe some examples of what I've seen below.

 

WORKING

Selecting Help:LabVIEW Help from menu opens the LabVIEW Help home page in my default web browser.

Clicking on a topic in the presented list takes my to that Help page within the web browser.

Turning on "Context Help" in LabVIEW opens a separate window with help info for the selected function.

 

NOT WORKING

From the LabVIEW help home page, clicking on the Search function takes me back to LabVIEW and lets me enter a search term. However, when I run the search, it directs me back to the web browser and a blank page appears w/ an error message.

If I right-click on a built-in function (for example, Type Cast) and select Help in that context menu, it directs me to the web browser and a blank page appears w/ an error message.

In the Context Help window, if I click on the "Detailed Help" link, it directs me to the web browser and a blank page appears w/ an error message.

 

The web pages w/ errors do not even have a URL, so I'm not certain what it is trying to access.

Unable to interface with SR 830 lock IN amplifier with LabVIEW by GPIB

Hi,

 I am using LabVIEW 2015 and want to acquire the data from SR 830 Lock IN amplifier via Agilent GPIB/USB converter (82357B). I have connected all the instrument and installed all the required drivers. I can see my instrument in NI MAX device and interface portion.I have also queried the VISA  test panel, it writes to my lockin and also read the data from the lock In. So I am assured that this is connected properly. Even when I use the examples given by the SR drivers it works properly as they operate via VISA. But I can not acquire data from lockin in my pc via GPIB cable. 

What to do now to acquire the data from my Lock IN to my pc via the GPIB? What are the possible problems for which I am unable to do it?

It will be a great help if one suggests me to recover my problem..

The toolkit generator report package has stopped working without Labview 2019

The Report Generator toolkit package works fine on Labview 2018, but when I try to use it on version 2019 it doesn't work. I wonder if this has happened to more people and if anyone can help me solve my problem.

Delete Repeated Rows in 2D Array taking in cout only one element.

Good Morning

I know my question is weird but I'll try to explain I have a 2D array where I need to delete rows only taking in count one element, and with the rest of the elements get an average and keep this dat6a in the new array.

I attach the snippet of my code and a image eplaining what I trying to do.
